Photos For Digipak

These are the photographs that I plan to use for my digipak and advert. I took these photographs and chose to use these photographs because they link to the music video as in the music video, there is a lot of trees/forest that creates the setting which will work for the digipak because I want to create the same feeling that the music video gives which is a relaxed and calming feeling.

With these photographs, I am going to edit them a little bit in Photoshop by adding filters to them to create a bit of colour but also give a indie feel to it as well.

Digipaks Research

This is the research I have done on Digpaks by analysing the conventions they use to create a successful digipak to attract their audience. The digipaks I used was Rihanna: Loud and Mumford & Sons: Sigh No More because they are 2 very different artists but very effective with the way their digipaks are portrayed.

Photographs For Inside Of Digipak

For apart of my digipak, I want to include photographs that i have taken with my Fujifilm Instax Mini 8. This is because I wanted to relate my photographs to the genre of music I have chosen. The genre of music is Indie but also relaxing and I found that people who are into indie music, are into photography with using Polaroid cameras because it gives a indie effect. I also found that the photographs are relaxing because the photographs are of the trees that link back to the music video as there is a lot of trees and scenaries and having photographs of the trees suggest to the audience that the music is very relaxing and indie.

Creating A Frame For Music Video

From watching this video on YouTube that is one of videos from Ella Henderson, I got the idea to add a frame onto my music video. This is because I wanted to make the audience understand that my video is a narrative video and that it is more of a personal narrative to the suppose person that is filming it even though I am the person who is directing the film but I want the audience to feel like its  the singer that is filming the girl.

I feel like the frame in Ella Henderson' video adds a element of a personal feeling not only to the audience but to Ella Henderson as it is filmed like a journey or a diary like to show the audience what she is doing almost like it is behind the scenes of her work.

To get the same feel to my music video, I will be creating frame in Photoshop to then overlay it on my footage in Premier Pro.

Refilming

I decided to do some refilming because I found that some of my footage is out of focus and could do with some cutaways to replace them. I found that the footage I filmed this time actually went really well. I think this because I used the Tri-pod more instead of using a fig rig so the footage was more stable than what some of the footage was before. I also like how I have done it on a sunny day so the detail of the cutaways are more clear and fits in really well with my original footage.

This footage links with Joan Lynch' theory of Narrative. The footage captures the feeling that the lyrics gives. The whole narrative of the footage is too feel relaxed and nice so I took footage of trees and the church on a sunny day where there was a lot of light similar to my previous footage.

To improve my Music Video I will be adding these short clips into my music video and then I will need to do a little bit more footage to replace some of the old footage by filming some close ups of the actress I used because the feedback from my hot desk said to do some close ups of the actress so that is my next step with improving my Music Video.
